It seems that MSN is blocked? How terrible! Fortunately, there are ways to get around the internet filters and get on MSN anyway.
The simplest way to get access to MSN at school is by using an unblocker. You can get onto any site that is blocked by using this method. You'll find links to unblockers right at the end of this page.
What do unblockers do?
Unblockers are like a gateway that pass information between your computer and the site you're trying to visit. The unblocker accesses the site in your place, accesses the page, and forwards it to you. So the site you're trying to visit only sees the unblocker's IP. So in effect you are visiting websites indirectly. School filters only think you are visiting the unblocker, not the site you actually want.
Some tips for using unblockers for MSN
It's good to use an unblocking site that isn't used much. Unblockers that get used a lot will be found and blocked by the school. Most unblockers found by internet searches will get blocked more quickly because they're so easy to find. Even if you get a good unblocker it's a good idea to have an alternative you can use if it gets blocked.
Another way to unblock MSN in school is to set up your own unblocker site. This is more advanced than using someone else's unblocker but it's a lot nicer to have because if they block it, you can make another. Explaining how to do this is not in this guide, but if you search for "How to make your own proxy" you should find help. You can even make money from this by putting ads on it.
Other ways to unblock MSN are by using sites that translate pages, such as Google Translate or Babelfish. Also try using Google's cache copy of the site. Unfortunately, it's not possible to login that way, so it's still better to use an unblocker for MSN, though these tips are great for most websites.
