How do unblockers work?

An unblocker is a kind of gateway that work between your computer and the site you're trying to visit. The unblocker goes to the site you want in your place, accesses the page, and sends it on to you. So the site you're trying to visit only sees the unblocker's IP. So in effect you are browsing websites in an indirect way. School firewalls think you are just visiting the unblocker, not the real site.
